Bayshore oncologist Dr. Michael J. Kane receives state and national recognition

Proving that top oncology care is available locally, Michael J. Kane, M.D., FACP, medical director of the oncology program at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, has received two healthcare recognitions. N.J. Savvy Living magazine has once again named Dr.Kane as one of the best doctors for New Jersey's women in itsAugust 2009 issue.On a national level,Dr.Kane was once again selected as one of the Best Doctors inAmerica, 2009-10 Castle Connolly.

Dr. Kane joined Bayshore Community Hospital as its medical director in 2007.

A nationally recognized oncologist, Dr. Kane has also been selected as one of the Best Doctors in the NewYork Metro Area as well as a"Top Doc"by New Jersey Monthly magazine.

"Being recognized for providing excellent cancer care to patients in the Bayshore area is a reflection of the treatments and services we provide at Bayshore Community Hospital," said Kane. "It is very important to the quality of life in our community that our oncology team provides state-of-the-art,high-technology cancer care close to home,with minimal disruption to home,work and family life for our patients."

Dr.Kane is a past president of the Oncology Society of New Jersey.He served as an extramural reviewer for the New Jersey Comprehensive Cancer Care Plan in the area of breast cancer. Dr.Kane is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in medical oncology and internal medicine.

Dr.Kane was previously on staff at the Mountainside Hospital Cancer Center and other renowned cancer-care facilities, includingThe Cancer Institute of New Jersey and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Bayshore Community Hospital's cancer program has been approved by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons. Bayshore Community Hospital is affiliated with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and The Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
