Bayshore Community Hospital designated as Primary Stroke Center
Bayshore Community Hospital has recently been designated as a Primary Stroke Center by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services.
Primary Stroke Center designation demonstrates Bayshore's preparedness to identify and quickly implement life-saving protocols and control the effects of a stroke in patients arriving at Bayshore Community Hospital.
For Bayshore patients this means that they are ensured rapid triage, diagnostic evaluation and treatment by an outstanding team of specialists who respond within minutes to a "stroke team activation" and who work together to provide seamless care for those who may be having a stroke. Patients can be assured that Bayshore, as a designated Primary Stroke Center, is committed to providing quality care through the delivery of clinical care that is based on appropriate clinical guidelines and evidence-based practice.
"Achieving this designation brings another level of excellence to our organization and improved services to the Bayshore community," explains Wendy Brown, vice president, Patient Care Services."I especially want to congratulate our clinical teams and our Stroke Steering Committee, led by Schuber C. Fan, M.D., board-certified neurologist, and Shirley Shook, M.S.N., RN-CB, CCRN, for showing such commitment in this achievement."
