Saint Peter's hosts Cancer Survivors Day 'Mardi Gras'

The Almost Famous Players of South Plainfield led the parade of cancer survivor celebrants to a rousing rendition of "When the Saints Go Marching In." The June 10 Cancer Survivors Day celebration was hosted by Saint Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Saint Peter's University Hospital hosted this year's Cancer Survivors Day "Mardi Gras" to celebrate life with cancer survivors, their families and friends on June 10.This year's annual celebration featured a Cajun cookout;"Shades of Blue," a local sixpiece jazz band;"The Almost Famous Players of South Plainfield;" and a Mardi Gras parade at the conclusion of the event.
Special guest Ryan McKee (left), who is in remission from leukemia following treatment at Saint Peter's Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Program, attended Cancer Survivors Day on June 10 with hismother Donna.Ryan is one of several former Saint Peter's patients who share their personal stories in the hospital's new Thanks Saint Peter's" advertising campaign.
