Kick the habit with Smoke Free Clinic at Monmouth

If you've ever tried to quit smoking, you know it's not an easy undertaking. Kicking the habit takes perseverance and support - and sometimes more than one attempt - but the results are well worth the effort.

According to the American Cancer Society, people who quit before the age of 35 can avoid 90 percent of the health risks associated with tobacco, and even those who quit later in life can significantly reduce their health risks and enjoy a higher quality of life. While quitting can be difficult, people who join a smoking cessation program often have a better chance of success.

Join Monmouth Medical Center's upcoming Smoke Free Clinic and let them help you kick the habit for life. This five-session program is a unique, gentle approach to help you quit smoking through motivation, support and education. You'll learn natural ways to combat addiction, energize your body, ease your mind and nurture your spirit. Information about alternative smoking cessation aids, stress management and weight control will also be provided. There is a fee for this program and preregistration is required.

The Smoke Free Clinic will be held at Monmouth Medical Center, 300 Second Ave., Long Branch, on Monday evenings Oct. 16, 23, 30, Nov. 6 & 13, from 7-9 p.m. Call (888) SBHS-123 for fee information or to register.
